BlackBerry Key2 LE

BlackBerry has another phone on the list for 2018: a lower-cost version of Key2 known as Key2 LE. It eliminates some of the high-tech features of expensive Key2 and reduces costs by using different body materials, to create a cheaper but even more distinctive BlackBerry smartphone.

You can check our Key2 LE practice review for our impressions. Here you have everything you need to know about the new phone.

*The red atomic version of the BlackBerry Key2 LE is now available for pre-order in the United Kingdom and Europe. It costs 400 pounds sterling, or about $ 515. It will be released on December 6.

For the most part, the BlackBerry Key2 LE looks pretty similar to Key2. It has the same 4.5-inch screen and a matte keyboard, but the keyboard is a bit smaller and the phone weighs less. The keyboard does not have a capacitive touch function that you’ll find in Key 2, which is one of the sacrifices you make for the cheapest phone, but the new Speed Key is still present. It helps you exchange applications much faster using keyboard shortcuts.
Turn the phone over and you will also notice that the texture in the Key2 LE is a bit different from the Key2. The chassis is made of plastic instead of aluminum, but comes in more colors: slate, atomic and champagne. Of the three, the atomic version, which is red with a dark back panel, looks better, and is the only one where the color extends to the frets between the keyboard keys.
While TCL may have cut some corners in the BlackBerry Key2 LE, the screen received no impact. You will find the same 4.5-inch LCD screen on the Key2 LE that is present on the Key2, with a resolution of 1,620 x 1,080.

The BlackBerry Key2 LE has a dual camera lens module on its back as does the Key2, but the megapixel counts are different. The main lens comes at 13 megapixels, while the secondary lens comes at 5 megapixels. Google Lens is also integrated into the camera. The front camera comes with 8 megapixels and has an LCD flash. There is also a Wide Autofoto Mode and a beauty filter for more options when you are moving away.

While the BlackBerry Key2 falls firmly into mid-range smartphone territory, TCL wanted to make its light-weight Key2 LE more competitive. To do so, it made some minor hardware changes. The Key2 LE ships with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor and 4GB of RAM.

*CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 636
*Memory: 4GB
*Storage: 32GB, 64GB
*MicroSD storage: Yes
*Screen Size: 4.5 inches
*Resolution: 1,620 x 1,080
*Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.0
*Battery: 3,000mAh
*Size: 150.25 x 71.8 x 8.35 mm
*Weight: 156 grams
*Operating System: Android 8.1 Oreo

As for storage, the default option is 32 GB, however, the 64 GB option will also be available in many regions. However, if that is not enough, the phone will also have a MicroSD slot for external storage.

The battery of the Key2 LE is also a bit smaller, reaching 3,000 mAh compared to the 3,500 mAh of the Key2. However, that should be enough for you to spend more than a full day, and since the phone has Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0, you can charge the battery quickly.

Like the BlackBerry Key2, you’ll find Android 8.1 Oreo on board. Expect to see an update to Android 9.0 Pie in the future. There’s not much else different with the software suite provided by BlackBerry on the phone. The Convenience Key defaults to triggering Google Assistant, and it can be customized a little more now. As usual, TCL promises the Key2 LE will receive monthly Android security updates as well.

The Slate BlackBerry Key2 LE is now available for pre-order on Amazon starting at $ 450. You can also find the Key2 LE at select Best Buy stores and online on October 12; Advance orders through Best Buy must also be available. The Key2 LE will work on the networks of AT & T, T-Mobile and Verizon.

If you’re looking for the BlackBerry Key2 LE Champagne, it arrived at Amazon and Best Buy on November 2. This color option will cost you $ 500.

The atomic Key2 LE has not yet been announced for the USA. UU., But it is available for pre-order as of November 22 in the US. UU And Europe through the BlackBerry website. About BlackBerry

BlackBerry, earlier called Research in Motion, is a Canadian smartphone-maker that made a name selling QWERTY devices, but is struggling to stay relevant in a world dominated by iOS and Android. After years of backing its own BB OS, the company has decided to make an Android smartphone in a bid to grab a small chunk of the smartphone pie it used to dominate.
